Exciting news! The Cartesi Honeypot challenge has now surpassed the 1 million CTSI mark and still hasn’t been hacked, showcasing Cartesi Rollups’ strong security and resilience.
The Honeypot dApp, which launched in September 2023, was the first Cartesi dApp on the Ethereum mainnet. It was designed as a testing ground for developers to probe the security of Cartesi's Rollup infrastructure. The challenge was simple: hack the Honeypot and drain the funds—no strings attached. Despite numerous attempts, the Honeypot remains secure, and the funds keep growing.
While high-profile hacks have plagued the blockchain space since its inception, contributors to the Cartesi project saw an opportunity to battle-test its rollup solution and challenge developers to find vulnerabilities. The Honeypot challenge represents an integral part of Cartesi’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen its infrastructure and elevate its security measures.
This initiative not only incentivizes the Cartesi community of developers and users to engage in platform security but also promotes a culture of collaboration and innovation within the ecosystem.
As more ambitious and robust dApps are being built using Cartesi’s technology, the project remains steadfast in its mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions while upholding the highest standards of security and reliability.
